Just spent the day in Cape Tribulation which is couple of hours north of Cairns. It was a really good trip with a rainforest walk and a crocodile boat trip.... AND I saw two crocodiles, one big and one small. First contact was good and ofcourse I got them both on film ;) We had a biologist as a guid and he was excellent, telling us alot about the australian rainforests. They are beleaved to be the oldest rainforests in the world, so when all the other froze more or less in the iceage these ones remained unfrozen. Ancient species can be found there making the forests a living musem.
I have to tell you about cassowaries which are endangered large flightless birds found here in the area. The female is dominant and they surely know how to live life ;) Females go between males, mate and lay eggs with them, then they leave the eggs with the mails which sit on them for weeks without moving and eating. Big sacrifices the male make and they take care of the chicks untill they are big enough to survive on theire own while the female just enjoys life. Very independent females, just let the men take care of the kids ;) So you guys should be thankful that you are not cassowaries... Amazing birds.
Be prepaired for more photos very soon...

I just put in some pictures, unfortunately I can only put in few at a time so i will rotate them ;) The first picture was taken in the Koala sanctuary in Brisbane, the second one in a huge sanddune in Fraser island, the third one is my Fraser island group: Charlotte, Sharon, me, Dan, Claire, Luke, Fabian and Rowan, the fourth one is a cliff in Fraser island.

What can I say about the Whitsunday islands? I really dont have the words to describe how beautiful they are and how great time I had cruising around them but I will try ;) Our sailing boat is called The Card and we were 14 people and 4 crew members. The skippers name is Karl and he has only one eye like a real pirot and he told us stories about his colorfull life on sea. The great thing about the Card is that we got to help to get the sails up and down, hard work but it was fun and made us feel like we were doing something, not just sit and let the crew do everything. We snorkled in three places and there were giant fishes, colorfull corals and all kinds of clams and seastars. One of the highlights of the trip was the amazing Whiteheaven beach which is one of the 4 most beautiful beaches in the world. There I swam with a reefshark and couple of sting rays ;) The group was really good and we all became very close friends. One of the great things about the trip was to sleep outside on the boat, watching the stars and being rocked to sleep.
After the Whitsunday trip I stayed in Airlie beach for one night (the playboy party) and then me and Sharon went to Townsville which is a very nice city, here I saw aboriginals for the first time in my trip... beleave it or not. Some of them seem to be ok, but many of them just sit on the streets and drink. It is very sad to see that, specially because I love theire culture so much.
Yesterday me and Sharon and a Korean girl (cannot remember her name) went to the Magnetic island which is 20 minutes away from Townsville with ferry and there I tried Jet ski for the first time ;) Today there is a big market in Townsville and great atmosphere, entertainment on every corner and I am thinking about getting a massage later... ahhhhh... it is difficult to be a backpacker... ;)

Tomorrow morning i am off to the Whitsundays, 3 day cruise. We had to hire sting suits to protect us from the deadly jelly fish so I should be ok ;)

Going to Fraser island was an amazing experience. I was with a group of 8 people and we drove around the island in a big 4x4 car in 3 days. My group was very good and we had a lot of fun togther. The highlight of the trip was ofcource seeing the dingos, they are very curious and were around our camp the second night. The rangers are very strict and if you are cought feeding them or leaving garbage or food in the campside you get a big fine. So we had to be very careful and always have a toilet partner because they are known to attack people in vulnerable positions... ;) Fraser island is so beautyful, amazing beaches which have the purpose only to be a highway for the cars because you cannot go into the waters. The sea around the island is infested with Tiger sharks but unfortunately we didnt see any. I thing i saw a fin once but it could have been a dolphin. There are a lot of freshwater lakes in the island and we swam in them instead of the sea. We were all very sad leaving the island because we didnt have time to see everything we wanted, I could easily spend weeks there.
Yesterday evening i met a possum, it was on the roof of the backpackers i am staying at. Crazy me got so excited that i crawled up to the roof and we had an intimite moment together staring in each others eyes very close. It was just great ;) And more about animals, i woke up very early with the sound of a kookoburra and it was unforgettable, they are soooo loud and have this crazy laughter. I am enjoying every minute here.
Tomorrow me and Sharon are going to Airlie Beach. We will stay there untill tuesday and then we are off to the Whitsunday islands. It is a 3 day cruise and we sleep on the boat. It was not on my plan but everybody is going there and it just sounds so good and now i am very excited. We will snorkle with giant fish and turtles and cruise around the islands which are famouse for theire beauty.

Thank you for all your comments, it is so great to get a reflex. I will put in some pictures, i promise. Nothing much is happening at the moment, I arrived to Hervey Bay yesterday and we are a group going to Frasier tomorrow. The dingos can be very dangerouse and can kill people if they try to feed them. They look very innocent and dogish but they are very wild. Still i want to see them ;) (Thank you Magga for putting in the comment featus for me)

One hour left in Noosa, and then me and Sharon (israleli girl) will head up to Harvey bay and go there to Frasier island. Our stay here has been great but i am looking forward in seeing other places. Frasier island is the biggest sand island in the world and there are a lot of wild dingos there, we will camp and drive a 4x4 drive around the island. The dingos can be very dangerouse but i reeeeeeally hope i will see some... I dont think there is a cell phone connection there but i will be back in few days. We go to the island tuesday i think and then we stay for 2 nights there. More details when i come back ;)

Nothing much is happening here but sun and beaches. My foot is bad and swallen so i have to try not to walk much... and it sucks big time, there are soo many things i want to do. But i am looking forward to the Frasier island trip, we will go the day after tomorrow. Yesterday there was a halloween party at the hostel i am staying at, i didnt pack any costume so i bought a aluminium foil and wrapped myself into it. There were all kinds of costumes, most of them very orignal because we are all backpackers, one was Steve Irwin with a paper croc... great, one was only wearing adam leafs... with everything hangin.. very cheap costume ;) But it was a lot of fun and i have made some good friends here.
