Our first day of shooting was today... It is so amazing to see the actors become the characters we have been creating all semester. My class is working on the final project which is one show in a situation comedy based on our script. We all have roles and my part was to control the decor and props, later on i will be in charge of the editing process. The set we built is huge, half the size of our schools studio, and it is a mimick of the presidential residences in Iceland - Bessastaðir. Nobody thought we could make it beleavable but everyone has been working really hard and the last week I have been running around finding props and buying stuff, borrowing stuff and making stuff. And now we cannot beleave the result, we are very proud since it looks really really great. My main worries were to find a fertility statue (carved man with a huge erected phallus) which in the comedy is supposed to be a gift from an african king to the president of Iceland. I found the perfect statue but it did not have a penis, so I had to make one, spray it black and tie it to the statue... it worked perfectly :) Or at least as perfect as it gets with a close to zero budget. We will be shooting this week and then start with the editing... phew, with the 3 camera setup it will be very challenging to edit it, but its all fun :)
